Mussel academy and birthday celebrations

Vongole!
 Hello!
Long time no see.. It has been a lot to do at work so I didn´t have time to blog, sorry. Hope it will be better in the future!

This weekend, on Friday, it was meeting in the mussel academy! The mussel academy has two members, me and my best friend, Erika!! We meet a couple of times a year and eat mussels! (Naturally we meet more often then that, but it is not every time we meet that we eat mussels) We cook them together and then we eat with great pleasure! This time we cooked a special type of mussel that is called vongole. It is my favourite kind of mussel.  We cooked it together with parsley, garlic, chilli and white wine. Then you serve it with spaghetti. Lovely!!

For starters we had smoked shrimps that we dipped in chilli aioli. Sooo nice!

Wilma, The birthday girl!

On Saturday I drove down to Halmstad to attend the birthday party for my niece Wilma who turned 13 years! Teenager! Wow, she is growing up fast!! When you celebrate a birthday in Sweden you usually meet in the afternoon on the Sunday closest to the birthday (Wilmas birthday is on the 26th, which was on Monday). You give presents to the person who's birthday it is. Then you have coffee and cakes. And of course the birthday cake! We all sing Happy Birthday to the birthday girl. Wilma had wished for a camera for her birthday, and she got one! She was so happy!!

It was a really nice and relaxing weekend! What did you do this weekend?
